Let's start with the the title, Burlesque, if we do a little search for the meaning of the word, we find:
1- a performance or piece of writing that makes something funny by repeating or performing it in a silly way
2- a type of performance or entertainment that involves jokes, songs and usually stripers.
Then the story:
Christina plays Ali, a small-town girl who moves to L.A. to pursue her dreams of fame and fortune. Once there, she discovers the Burlesque Lounge, where she works as a waitress then breaks into song and proves what a star she is, becoming the City's headline act.
And lastly but most importantly, the styling:
The costumes, worn by Christina Aguilera were designed by Michael Kaplan (an American movie costume designer, best known for his work on Fight Club, Mr & Mrs Smith, Pearl Harbor, Gigli & more..) are made from everything including feathers, leather, pearls, gold coins and Swarovski crystals... Even the burlesque club's curtains were made up of 80.000 crystals weighting 1.3 tonnes.

This beautiful form-fitting green dress was worn by Christina Aguilera for the ballad 'Bound to You'.
The third eye-catching costume on display, a Swarovski-encrusted corset, was worn for the song 'But I Am a Good Girl'
And in the movie's finale, Aguilera was dressed in a short golden number that was hand-made by linking gold coins and crystals together.
